We are a community celebrating the fullness of life Jesus brings.
Gordon Baptist Church is an inter-generational and inter-cultural church of intentional discipleship for integral mission. That may sound like a mouthful, but it simply means we we include all ages and all cultures in learning to live under Jesus as Lord, for life. We follow Jesus Christ as Lord because we have experienced his rescue and joined his invitation to continue his work in the world.
Our purpose is to build a distinctive community of God’s people growing in
our communion with God,
community with one another and
commission within our world.
Members within our community covenant together as partners of God's work amoung us, prayerfully relying upon God and directed by his Spirit and Word, we seek:
through Grace
to imitate Christ, by being gracious towards others in speech, attitude and action; we will seek to maintain unity and resolve conflict actively and biblically; [Phil. 2:5; Eph. 4:25-5:2; Col. 3:12-14, 4:6; Mat. 5:23-24, 18:15-22].
through Growth
in our knowledge of God and Scripture to be part of building the whole body towards maturity; [2 Pet. 3:18; Eph. 4:15-16; 1 Cor. 12:12, 27].
through Gathering
to meet as a family together, regularly and joyfully, learning, praying, and sharing, within groups big and small; [Heb. 10:25; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Cor. 14:26].
through Gifts given by God
to serve and minister to others; [Eph. 4:7-13; Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:4-7].
through Giving
to be generous with our time and resources towards our church family and others in need, living simply as good stewards of all God gives us; [Mat. 25:35-40; 2 Cor. 8-9; 1 Tim. 6:17-19].
through Governing
to participate in Church Meetings whenever possible, discerning the mind of Christ, and then submitting to it in our decision-making together, under the guidance of the Spirit; [Acts 15:22-30; 1 Thes. 5:12-13; Col. 3:15-17].
through Going
with our first priority in life being to live for the kingdom, working with others in evangelism, social action and prayer to fulfil our commission to make disciples and bring all creation under the Lordship of Christ. [Eph. 1:9-10; Mat. 28:19-20; Col. 3:1-5].
We are a member of the Association of Baptist Churches in NSW & ACT and hold to the Statement of Beliefs adopted by the Baptist Churches of NSW and ACT. We are also part of the wider movement of Australian Baptist Ministries.

Our leadership team is made up of Pastors and Deacons.
Our current Deacons: David Slinn (Chair), Barry Nelson (Secretary), Emily Shen (Treasurer), Cliff Hughes, Steph Chen, Cathy Yang, Richard Hong, Dennis Leung and Leo Cheng.
John loves to spend time helping people navigate all seasons of life. He has been leading the pastoral team at Gordon Baptist since 2003 and witnessed the community grow into a thriving intercultural church as part of God's work in this area. Married to Sandy, they have five adult children.
Steve spends his time coming alongside to teach and nurture growth of people in our English congregation. He loves helping people translate what trust in Jesus looks like in everyday life and helping people grow as disciples of Jesus today. Married to Claire, they have three energetic boys.
Gary loves to help people to open up Bible text as well as their Life text, through interaction, we will live up our Biblifical Text. Gary had been a pastor in a Baptist Church in Hong Kong for more than 15 years before joining Gordon Baptist in 2020. Married to Irene and they have an adult child Angus.
Miso has a heart to see children, youth and families to grow in God's kingdom. She's worked with churches and mission orgs in Sydney and Korea. Embracing both 2nd gen Korean and Australian identities, she strives to work with our multi-ethnic society and champion the cause of the local church through community building, discipleship training, worship, and family counselling.
Grace Eu plays the role in supporting the daily functions that keep our church community thriving. With her expertise in accounting, disability, and service delivery operations, Grace supports the maintenance of the mission and vision of the church. Her passion is in community and process excellence.
Gordon Baptist Church is committed to providing places, and programs that promote physical, emotional and spiritual health and safety and model the love of Christ to all with whom we have contact, particularly children, young people and vulnerable adults.
